SSNCEF envisages a Niger Delta where all children had access to their rights and opportunities for development; and are protected from
all forms of abuse and exploitation.

With a drive for excellence, commitment to standards and flair for effecting positive societal and sustainable change, SSNCEF is tackling the street children syndrome in the Niger Delta of Nigeria through the following integrated
programmes:

• Advocacy and Campaign (Prevent Abandonment of Children Today)
• Research (Establishing facts for creating intervention strategies)
• Service Delivery (Education, Nutrition, Psychosocial Support, Family
  Reunification)

OUR STRATEGIC DEMANDS

• The Federal Government should enact a legislation making it illegal for children to be branded as ‘witches’.

• The Akwa Ibom State Government needs to work with all stakeholders to develop a comprehensive plan of action to protect
  and save the lives of children branded as ‘witches’.

• The Akwa Ibom State Government should begin to regulate the
  activities of churches known to be violating the rights of children.

• The Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) should ban all
  home videos that promote superstitious beliefs that lead to the
  stigmatization of children as ‘witches’.
